100-Day Challenge Update

Stop just setting goals. Goals are pure fantasy unless you have a specific plan to achieve them” – Stephen Covey, Author and Keynote Speaker

Congratulations on signing up for the 100-Day Challenge … the fun has just begun!

In order to support you and increase your chance of success we are encouraging you to follow the framework that has been designed for you … A SPECIFIC PLAN!

In addition to the many great resources you have online, we have chosen to focus on four habits from Stephen Covey’s book, Seven Habits of Highly Effective People, to integrate into the framework for these next 100 days. These four habits deal specifically with self mastery, renewal and continuous improvement.

#1. BE PROACTIVE: Be prepared to do something different in the next 100 days. Be uncomfortable, challenge assumptions and stretch yourself into beliefs, thoughts and actions that are new for you.

Questions to ask yourself:

  • what will I need to do specifically over and above – or differently?
  • where will I stretch?
  • how will I set priorities differently than I have until now?
  • what qualities or traits do I need to step into in order to reach my goals?

#2. BEGIN WITH THE END IN MIND: Be clear about not just WHAT your goal is but WHY. This will be the fuel to keep you going when the going gets tough.

Questions to ask yourself:

  • what am I committed to achieving by the end of the next hundred days?
  • why is it important to me?
  • what are the building blocks of activity and outcomes (my plan) that I commit to each day/week in order to achieve that or more?

#3. PUT FIRST THINGS FIRST: Get clear on what’s important and what’s urgent; make time for the most important things first and trust that the rest will fall into place. The key is not to prioritize what’s on your schedule but to schedule your priorities. http://www.4shared.com/video/Z5fFJ0r5/Big_Rocks_-_Stephen_Covey.htm

Questions to ask yourself:

  • what high value (important) priorities and activities are being starved and not getting my attention because I’m reacting to what seems urgent?
  • what are the tasks/conversations/relationships that are most important to achieving my goals?
  • make notes to build them into next week’s plan.

#4. SHARPEN THE SAW: Take time out for renewal and self-improvement

Questions to ask yourself:

  • what will I do today/this week over these 100 days to build my own personal capacity, power, attractiveness and resilience?
  • am I doing the recommended reading and listening DAILY? If not, why not?

It’s not about doing it perfectly but rather improving each day as we move forward!

HERE’S TO A GREAT WEEK OF UNPARALLELED SUCCESS!
