“You’ve got to be HUNGRY,” Speaker Les Brown declared at Saturday night’s closing session. One of the world’s most renowned motivational speakers, Les Brown ignited the crowd with his dynamic personality, heartfelt stories and infectious laugh. Mr. Brown had the audience shaking hands with one another and shouting, “It’s possible!”

Mr. Brown truly exemplifies the meaning of “success!” He shared stories of his childhood when teachers failed to recognize his true potential. However, he used determination, persistence and belief in his ability to go beyond being a sanitation worker to unleash a course of amazing achievements including broadcast station manager, political commentator and multi-term state representative in Ohio.

“Listen to these voices!”

Les Brown encouraged the audience to use the tools available to them. Listening to the voices of Earl Nightingale, Zig Ziglar, Jim Rohn and others every day enabled him to achieve mental resiliency and to see a greater life for himself. “You have the system to create financial independence for yourself,” he said. “It’s all about mindset. Eighty percent of people will give up. They are suffering from possibility blindness.”

He encouraged Associates to develop their own mental resiliency. Mr. Brown shared an MIT study that found it will take 17 times for someone to say, “I can do it,” for them to actually believe it! He continued, “In order to discover greatness, you have to become someone you’ve never been. Don’t suffer from arrested development – get out of your comfort zone.” Then he had the audience stand up and place their right index finger into their left ear while reciting a motivational passage. He concluded, “I didn’t want the message to go through one ear and out the other.”

Some of Brown’s quotes included:

“Let the no’s become your vitamin!”

“If you do what is easy, your life will be hard. But, if you do what is hard, your life will be easy.”

“The best leaders are the best listeners.”

“Don’t become a victim of mass distractions.”

“Someone’s opinion of you doesn’t have to become your reality.”

“You don’t get in life what you want, you get what you are.”

Raise the bar tenfold!

“You have an energy signature,” Mr. Brown said. “Create an experience … the experience of your personality. Find a statement that describes your journey.” He encouraged Associates to build relationships, provide more service than what you get paid for and give before you ask.

“Manifest a level of greatness,” he concluded.

It was truly a standing ovation performance!
