From Jobless to Successful Business Owners
Name: Maureen Forrest
Rank: Silver Presidential Director
Location: Australia
In their mid-50s, Maureen Forrest and her late husband Michael found themselves homeless, jobless and with very little money. Soon, Michael was approached about Mannatech, which was about to launch in Australia. After researching the products and the business opportunity, they learned the basics of network marketing and how the business plan worked and decided to give it a go.
“We realized we had two choices – sit around and feel sorry for ourselves or start over again,” said Maureen.
“We didn’t have much left to survive, but he promised me that he would earn it back. After 40 years with Michael as my partner in life, his charm and persuasive ways usually won the day.”
Michael and Maureen worked together to build and support their teams to the best of their abilities, making themselves available to everyone seven days a week and often up to 14-16 hours a day. The couple became Bronze Presidential Directors within their first 12 months and achieved a trip to the UK for the Mannatech launch at the same time.*
“We were even able to extend our time there to travel through Scotland and Ireland.* This was fantastic for us, especially at this time in our lives after all we’d gone through,” said Maureen.
When they returned to Australia, the Forrests set their goals to qualify for all of the incentives that Mannatech had to offer and to work to purchase another home for themselves. Together, they achieved many of the incentives: tickets to the Olympic Games, trips to Malaysia, Hawaii, Kakadu, cruises in Alaska and Fiji, trips to the U.S. and within Australia, and even the use of a new car for a year. *
After just a couple of years with Mannatech, Michael and Maureen were finally able to place a deposit on another home.*
“We made it our goal to find out what dreams and goals our team had so that we could support and help them achieve them too,” said Maureen.
Today Maureen lives a comfortable life without having to rely on a government pension and has also achieved trips to New Zealand, Bali, Mauritius, Sri Lanka, China and Mexico. She is also able to help her family and other worthy causes, such as helping children in need and others who are less fortunate.*
“Mannatech gave us the vehicle we needed to go forward in life,” she said. “I challenge others to open their minds and hearts today to find the vehicle that will give them the health and the finances to make their dreams a reality.”
